What is Hydroseeding?

Hydroseeding is the simple procedure of applying grass seed, fertilizer, hydromulch and water in one liquefied application. Various soil amendments and soil stabilizers may also be used in the mixture depending on the constraint, soil conditions and erosion control factors.

What is the best time of year to Hydroseed?

The ideal time in Southern Ontario for most grasses is during those seasonal periods when daytime air temperatures range between 15 - 24 degrees Celsius, the ground temperature is at least 15 degrees Celsius & regular rainfall is anticipated. May, June, September and Early October are the most favorable months for hydroseeding. However we do seed in the dormant periods, result may take longer to be optimized.

Do I need to water?

The most important requirement for a newly hydroseeded lawn is watering . We cannot over emphasize the importance of proper watering during the germination period. When watering, you do not want puddling and/or runoff, you want to water just enough to thoroughly moisten the seed bed. The watering period is usually between 7-14 days. Allow 24 hours after the application for the slurry to dry before watering.
